Ardsley’s ideal location offers convenient access to the New York State Thruway, the Saw Mill River Parkway, Route 9A and the Sprain Brook Parkway. A dependable public bus transit system provides further options in travel.
The village provides a variety of recreation and sports programs for residents and for students of the Ardsley School District. The community center on Center Street is open for youth activities and senior citizen programs. It is used to teach a variety of classes and welcomes community groups for meetings and other functions.
Ashford Park, one of two large parks operated by the village’s Recreation Department, features lighted tennis courts, a softball field, a basketball court, soccer fields, a playground, a skateboard park and picnics areas. Ashford Park hosts an annual Park day, tennis tournament, 5-K run and Garage Sale. Nearby McDowell Park includes four baseball fields, a basketball court and picnic pavilion. Other smaller parks are spread throughout the community.
The Ardsley School District is highly respected within the county. The district recently earned two prestigious awards from the United States Department of Education, as Ardsley Middle School was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and the Concord Road Elementary School received the National Award for Model Professional Development.
